Evaluation of Photovoltaic Modules | Flammability Test

The only laboratory in Japan that supports US UL Standard Flammability testing with a flammability test facility specialized for Photovoltaic Modules

When installed on roofs, fire safety must be secured to protect our lives and property to avoid emergencies. Our Flammability Tests are conducted in a facility which is specialized in photovoltaic module to comply with IEC, JIS Standards as well as UL Standard in the US. In addition, it also complies with burning brands test of Building Standard Regulation in Japan that is required for photovoltaic modules installed on roofs.

■Flame Spread Test
This test evaluates fire spreadability of photovoltaic modules on the roof.. It also assesses flammability by spraying a big flame directly on the surfaces.

■Burning Brands Test
We evaluate the effect of heat to the flammability of photovoltaic module by placing brands on the sample surfaces.

■Fire Test combined with roof materials
This is the latest UL standard in the US, which evaluates the combination of photovoltaic modules and roofing materials and its fire resistance, testing with differing slopes.
