Evaluation Test of Plastic Materials

SAE Weathering Test for AMECA Recognition

Materials and products intended for outdoor use need to be evaluated for resistance to weather. Chemitox is your agent to conduct weathering tests all over the world, as well as to apply for US AMECA (Automotive Manufacturers Equipment Compliance Agency Inc.) recognition. We can provide you with one stop support starting from sample molding to technical consulting including interpretations of the test standards, and on to the actual test. We can also introduce you the best testing locations appropriate to the usage of the material. Please feel free to contact us for any exposure tests for not only plastics but any materials.

Exposure Test in Arizona and Florida, USA

We have a partnership with Arizona Desert Testing LLC (AZTEST) in USA, which can provide weathering test services for all kinds of polymer materials and products. AZTEST is accredited by AMECA for weathering test services of polymer materials in accordance with FMVSS571.108 and SAEJ576. Therefore, it is possible to register your plastic material on the AMECA list by passing the weathering tests both in AZTEST’s test facilities in Arizona and Florida. Other than the standard three-year test that is required by United States federal law, AZTEST can conduct tests for recognition of AMECA diffusing material list, and also the five-year list. Also, AZTEST can conduct an accelerated weathering test by using the ACUVEX (Accurate Controlled Ultraviolet Exposure) machine that provides correlated test data with natural exposure in a shorter period of time. Our timely service and good maintenance of test equipment compare favorably against other companies, so you benefit by choosing our weathering test service.

Another advantage is the choice of water spray cycles during the ACUVEX test. With no water spray cycle, you can simulate the dry and hot climate of Arizona. With water spray cycle, you can simulate the humid climate of Florida.
Other AZTEST tests can be conducted for all kinds of materials, including automobile parts.

AMECA (Automotive Manufacturers Equipment Compliance Agency Inc)

AMECA is the only independent body that can submit the list of certified items to each state government in the Unites States. It is very important for plastic materials and coatings used for automotive lighting products. For this reason, more than 500 organizations including Japanese companies register their products in the AMECA lists. More than 1,000 new products are listed annually. AMECA recognition is required by various organizations, such as major US automobile manufacturers, state governments, and some South American governments such as Ecuador and Venezuela, and also by the governments in Middle Eastern countries such as Israel.

Exposure Test in Australia
The climate of North East coast in Australia has high solar radiation and humidity. The temperature is relatively high and the climate is consistent  throughout the year. Other than standard natural exposure test, it is also possible to conduct accelerated weathering tests.

Exposure Test in Singapore
Singapore is located near the equator and is very hot and humid throughout the year. We can offer the weathering testing services based on the various standards including ASTM and ISO at an established laboratory we are in partnership with.
